Charlotte shirt and end of an era

I made this super cool state shirt with my silhouette machine. It has the outline of North Carolina and a little heart cut-out where Charlotte is. The bottom says queen city love. Queen City = Charlotte's nickname for those who don't know. I made it for one of my dearest friends, Brooke.

The reason for the gift was that Brooke was moving away to Denver. Bittersweet. Brooke and I met as college roommates freshman year and have been close friends ever since. We have had so many great memories together living in the same room, apartment, or city for 8 years. For the 4 years she lived in Charlotte we did Wednesday dinners alternating at my place or hers... it was always something I looked forward to each week! Denver is sure lucky to have her now. It was sad to see her leave Charlotte but hopefully one day she will be back :)

What kind of proper farewell would it be without a party? There was a luau themed going away party for a wonderful send off!

Jason made some yummy hawaiian party punch

Some of the girls. The flamingo stayed with Lauren through the duration of the night.

Ready to move this party to the bars.

This is probably me proposing that Brooke just stays ;)

It sure is a big change from 25 minutes apart to 25 hours apart. Even though it's the end of an era of my close friend nearby, I am excited to hear about her adventures in a new city and glad to have another city to go visit!

Linking up at these fun parties:
