Mary Mary quite contrary...

...how does your garden grow?

with Yellow Squash

Green Bell Pepper

and Jalapenos all in a row {ok that's it for the rhyme :) }

Cucumbers

Zucchini

Roma Tomatoes

Early Pick Tomatoes

Basil and Cilantro in pots on the screen porch

Quite a big difference from only doing tomatoes and basil last year (and the basil not surviving transplant hence starting them in pots). So far everything seems to be okay despite some very strong winds we have been having here in NC recently.

I love my bigger garden area and that it has a drip system from our backyard renovation! This year should be a good experimenting year to see what grows well here in Charlotte.

What are you planting this season? Where does everyone else keep their potted herbs - outside? screen porch? inside? I would love to hear your thoughts!

  4. Awesome Emily! I really need to try a garden again. The first year we were married we had some herbs, okra (ick), and watermellon (my dad grew up on a farm and they grew the first seedless watermellon in the states there... so its in the genes)... but the watermellon took over our yard and we haven't tried anything since... lol.

  8. Looks good. I grow my herbs in my greenhouse and out in the garden itself. This year I am going to try to do a pallet garden on my back deck and put herbs in it. I am always experimenting. I can't put my warm lovin plants out until after the 3rd weekend in May so I am rather envious of your earlier season!

  11. I love the drip system... wish we would have thought of that. Instead I have to carry the hose out and water it every other day. We have pretty much the same things you have except no jalps cause we're wimps(lol). We also have yellow(pear) tomatoes, parsley, oregano, and red bell peppers. Have you thought about having a fall garden too? We're thinking about it. Well I hope yall are doing great! We miss you!!

  17. I hope they all thrive and yield a bountiful harvest, Emily!

    We're just getting around to laying sod in our yard this year and have planted a few peonies on the border of our driveway. Perhaps, if all goes well, we'll plant some of the pumpkin seeds that I saved from last year!
